The Heart Gallery is an innovative approach to finding loving adoptive families for children in foster care. The gallery features beautiful portraits of these children, taken by professional photographers from all across Illinois.

When the gallery is displayed in person, it inspires families to see foster care adoption in a brand new light. Please take a look at the images above. Our team is working hard to find families for these children. Can you help us?

  • If you would like to parent a child or children in foster care, please contact us to get started today!
  • If you would like to refer a friend or family member who may be interested in parenting a child or children in foster care, please share our information with them and ask them to contact us today!
  • If you would like to support our efforts by making a generous financial contribution, please visit our donation page on PayPal. Every donation makes an impact!

Thank you for your consideration. Together, we can find families for waiting children, raise awareness of foster care adoption, and create lasting, positive change throughout Illinois.

Schedule a Showing

Do you have access to a venue in one of the large cities or towns in Illinois? We are always on the lookout for new spaces to display these beautiful portraits. For more information on how to schedule a Heart Gallery showing in your community, please download our guide or contact our Communications Coordinator, Dixon Galvez-Searle, at (312) 462-7227 or dgsearle@illinoiscap.org.

Volunteer Hosts Needed

You might think that the portraits in the Heart Gallery speak for themselves, but we find it beneficial to personally engage with families in order to move beyond that initial positive impression. Many of our venues host the Heart Gallery for an extended period of time—two to four weeks—and it is not feasible for our staff to be present at all times. That’s where volunteers can make a real difference.

If you are interested in engaging with families during select high-traffic times at an upcoming Heart Gallery showing, please contact our Communications Coordinator, Dixon Galvez-Searle, at (312) 462-7227 or dgsearle@illinoiscap.org. We will schedule you for a brief training session, after which you will be able to provide valuable support for families.

Volunteer Photographers Needed

We also rely on the generous contributions of our volunteer photographers, who donate their time and talent to create our Heart Gallery portraits. If you are a professional photographer who is interested in volunteering, please contact our Communications Coordinator, Dixon Galvez-Searle, at (312) 462-7227 or dgsearle@illinoiscap.org. As a statewide organization, we are interested in hearing from photographers in every region of Illinois.
